Melissa is a medical student at UNC Chapel Hill. She grew up in Marshville, North Carolina, on a farm, with a twin sister and younger twin brothers. After setting out at eighteen for Wake Forest University, she studied Health and Exercise Science, cheered for the Demon Deacons, lived in Venice for a year, and met some of the people that would become her lifelong favorites. When she is able to escape the endless task of memorizing “medical things,” she can be found running, cycling, reading, and both planning and executing her next adventure. Dance has been a part of her life since she was three years old. It started with clogging but later expanded to tap, gymnastics, and hip hop. Traveling and performing make her feel most alive, especially when theses experiences are shared with special people. She just joined the Apple Chill Cloggers in the fall of 2006 and is currently studying dances like they are on the Boards.
